FIELD GUIDE TO THE BEST CYCLING TIGHTS.

November 25, 2019 By Paula Dyba Leave a Comment

We’ve put cycling tights to the test in some pretty extreme conditions from wet road surfaces to frigid temperatures. And while the option always exists for layering a shell tight over bike shorts, our testers favor the integrated, dedicated cycling tights with chamois. The main reason is less bulk and therefore a reduction in the potential for chafing at waist, back of knee and through the crotch where multiple fabric layers can be extra problematic.

Years of development and sourcing have resulted in what we think is a pretty comprehensive array of options – and the best cycling tights for female cyclists. If you’re a serious rider trying to eke out every rideable day possible, you’ll get your money’s worth out of any one of these.

THE COLOR OF HAPPINESS.

July 19, 2019 By Paula Dyba Leave a Comment

While the wearer of the Maillot Jaune has every reason to be happy, psychologists tell us that the color yellow itself represents happiness, optimism, warmth, enlightenment and creativity. In addition to being the most luminous color in the spectrum, it’s also the color most often associated with religious (and cycling) deity.   Color therapists are […]

One of the coolest things about my job the last 20+ years has been the ability to meet cyclists of all kinds. Far and away, my best cycling celebrity encounter was with 5 time Tour de France victor, Eddy Merckx and his son, Axel, at a trade show years ago. A class act and a […]

WHY PERFORMANCE HEMP IS NOT AN OXYMORON.

May 22, 2019 By Paula Dyba Leave a Comment

Hemp is one of the oldest utilitarian crops in the world. Its fibers were used to make ropes and sails for Columbus, paper for Gutenberg’s Bible and clothing for humans long before we even had calendars. After the 1950s, hemp sort of slipped into obscurity, but interest has grown steadily in recent years because there […]
