Our commitment to quality, sustainability and ethical production has made us one of the few remaining companies who still make cycling apparel in the USA. Headquartered in Spokane, Washington, KL Manufacturing is a 2nd generation family business that has been making Terry apparel for over 25 years. They’ve been able to weather the changing tide of apparel production with state of the art equipment and a stellar team of people. They work with much larger brands like Nike and Goruck and are expert at performance apparel for athletes.
We were first introduced in 1999 when we acquired GKA Sportskorts, the foundation to our line of cycling skorts. KL was intimately involved in the development of these pioneering, complex skorts that required months of sampling and a high degree of precision sewing.
From sample making to printing to laser cutting and pad setting, they are the gold standard for Terry. They take great pride in their products and it shows in the quality construction of everything they make for us. Traditional sewing is augmented with automation via sophisticated equipment…
Why don’t more brands manufacture in the US, particularly in the era of sustainability prioritization? Fabric mills have disappeared which complicates the supply chain, manufacturing regulations and wage requirements can be difficult and of course it’s significantly more expensive. Every year it gets harder to justify increasing our prices but we love working with an experienced team who’s invested in us, who believes in us and in our mission of delivering the best products possible for female cyclists and whose approach to quality has made us who we are. We believe it’s worth the investment and we’re grateful that you support it through your purchases.

How cool! I had no idea where Terry apparel was made, and turns out it’s in the state where I live. I love this article and the peek inside the manufacturing facility. 🙂
